At the end of January, Todd and I got to get away for a quick trip to Playa del Carmen, Mexico. It was so nice to getaway for some romantic time with my cute hubby. We enjoyed a beautiful suite at the Paradisus la Esmerelda, for a 3 night/4 day stay. We ate well, slept in, enjoyed the ocean a little (it was chilly), learned how to make sushi, enjoyed the spa and dancing. It was a great trip and we are so thankful to my mom and dad for watching the girls for us while we were away.
Pictures of our suite...
My favorite...our own little hot tub on our patio!
That beautiful blue water can't be beat!
Our resort had a very modern/"zen" feeling to it...complete with a Koi pond.
That view never gets old...
My hubby and I...
I am not great at alot of things...but laying on the beach...I am SOOOOO good at!
Hibachi and dancing was our favorite night on the trip!
Some pics from town...
While on the trip, we had an extra passenger. We took "Flat Stanley" with us. Stanley is a character from a series of childrens books that Maggie's first grade class was reading. It is a story of how a little boy gets "smooshed" and becomes flat, and is able to be mailed all over the world for visits. The kids made their own flat Stanley and had a class project to do with him. Luckily, the timing was perfect and Stanley had his passport and got to come to Mexico with us.
He enjoyed flying the plane!
Putting his toes in the sand...
And going to Sushi making/tasting class!
P.S Maggie got a 100 on her project! LOL!
So thankful to get to take vacations from time to time....love to all!
Leah
